Hi Karl,

I was wondering if you know if we might have permission to use the Port Orford Cedar image by Mike Beagle on our Web site. We'd like to use it in association with a note about the new Copper Salmon Wilderness. We are a small family foundation that has supported the work of Oregon non-profits who advocated for the new Oregon Wilderness areas that were included in the Omnibus Public Lands Act earlier this year.

Thanks for your time,

Hello Karl,

I just found your website and love it! All great stuff. Thanks for all the great information.
I'm disappointed that I missed the boat festival. I have a '67 15' Keith Steele that I need to refinish but not sure how to proceed. Could you put me in touch with someone who is familiar with this boat? She's pretty well checked now and has been out of the weather when not in use so no dry rot that I can see.

Hi, Karl. Great post about fishing with Jaden. Sounds like you have a fine boy.
Interesting article this week about the judge who is about to decide (again) on the legality of the feds' Columbia River Hydropower System Salmon Recovery Plan at
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2008727079_redden10m.html
He's an Oregon judge. I don't think he fishes, but he's been good for fish in the past. And thanks to the injunctive relief he ordered (against the feds' objections), starting in 2006 BPA has had to crank up the spill during critical migration periods. This year's good spring run Chinook are showing how well it works to give fish some running water . . .

Hi, Karl - love your site. Good fish stuff, good conservation stuff.
Wanted to make sure you know about the Save Our Wild Salmon 2008 National Road Show - trying, TRYING to get some attention for the Lower Snake River Dams outside the region. (Your comments on the candidates' positions were right on.)
You can link to the blog from our website.
Keep up the good work!
